Only Fools Ride Horses

by Void   Dec 24, 2005

Some people say,
It takes courage to ride a horse.
Because when you fall down,
There seems no remorce.

Some people believe,
It's smart to be persistant.
Because if you never give up,
Your dreams won't be resistant.

But here I am standing,
Hiding within my cage.
Because for so long, I gave my all,
To a love that was only staged.

Drenched in guilt,
For breaking my own heart.
I took my chances,
And now I'm torn apart.

You've done this to me,
So many times before.
First cheating, then lying,
Then closing your heart's doors.

I don't know why I kept trying,
But I know better today.
Only fools right horses,
And I'm a fool left astray.

Hope everyone understands this! Is it in the right category? Any suggestions?

Yes, a bit confusing at first but I think I understood it, and I loved the metaphor...that was so original. Just a great poem..Although I think I would have put it in lost love or something like that, but nice one again!

Yeah i think you have it in the right section because it's more about how to deal with rejection or heartbreak or making a mistake rather then love or anything, but yeah this is great again im putting you on my favorites : ) 3rd stanza was a little rough to read but other then that perfect again i love your style 5/5
