It's Been a Long Time

It's been a long time since I've held you to my wrist,
It's been a long time since you gave me deaths sweet kiss,
We used to be the closest of friends I would call you my brother,
And now were back together and I hope forever.

It's been a long time since I've felt this blinding pain,
It's been a long time since I hoped it would never change,
Just you and me hugging in the dark,
And you giving me these red marks.

Am I worth this life that god gave to me,
I don't think I am but that's how the blind men see,
Now I'm starring in the mirror as I feel the line grow bigger,
The red is pushing through and I cry, go figure.

It's been a long time since you came to me by night,
It's been a long time since you've shown me deaths dark flight,
Your making me hurt myself over again,
And bringing back the memories of when I first began.

It's been a long time since I cried for this to end,
It's been a long time since I had these actions to defend,
But now there back and I feel the desire grow,
I'm slipping off to sleep in this painful show,
of sorrow.
