To A Fallen Hero

by evangeline   Dec 28, 2005

Your cries have been written
One by one
Ceremoniously layed in gold
By the eyes that gleam through each one word
And how you always seemed so bold
To each his own -your precious breath-
Seemed most masterful of all
Leaving pain with word of your death
Maybe a sense of twisted appall
Your life you were barely allowed to live
You yearned for more each day
So young you made the most of all
Simply did you pray
Your eyes told both tales of old
And dreams and hopes and faith
Extinguished and so tepidly forayed
You before foretold -or before had planned-
But live each day, you did so well
Your stories struck my heart -if you couldn't tell-
I only wish you could have had
The future you'd already built in your mind
When you escaped from the flying words that did surround
You-even in the worst of time-
Tragedy trudges on to mark
Another life not through
Maybe things now seem so dark
Due to how well I understood you
