Soul deep

by mary jetton   Dec 30, 2005

What is that i hear,
a sound,
so piercing sharp to my ears,
your words cutting my soul deep.
Leaving scares that make me weep.
Now i sit alone,
stitching my heart that lay broken in my hands.
The heart you once held so near.
The heart you protected from any fear,
and now the heart you gave back to me,
after shattering it to pieces.
I will never forgive you for making me weep,
or telling me you loved me before i went to sleep.
For telling me all those lies that made me love you.
I will never forgive you for trying to protect me from the truth,
by lying to me and telling me what I wanted to be true.
The wound you made will never heal.
Therefore my heart will always be broken,
not because of me,
but because of you,
and your words cutting my soul deep.
