Only You

by Karla Gordon   Jan 1, 2006

My thoughts ponder and search for the answer
I love you, wanting you to have all you deserve.

We have shared our most personal thoughts
Being as intimate as distance allow us to be.

It takes me only a second to know your emotions
Knowing if you are about to cry or explode in anger.

A feeling of dread seems to overtake me
When you are sick or something is wrong.

You make me mad and break my heart
Never can I stay away, always forgiving the hurt.

It tears me apart my wanting to be with you
My soul is tortured and in need of your arms.

There is not an hour that goes by without you
Invading my brain, soul and heart in love.

Now this one strikes to the very core of my heart, a page ripped from my book of memories of love.I knew when I read one of your very first poems that here was a natural talent, and for once I had it right. This really affects me so deeply. The last three stanza are almost heartbreaking in the honesty of pur emotion.

I know that feeling very well, honey.
