All She Wants Is A Friend

by Silence   Jan 1, 2006

She's lost inside, who broke her heart?
she's been insulted too much, who told her she wasn't smart?
she tries too hard not to cry,
she tries so hard not to die,
her feelings she hides,
in no one she confides,
she has a very low self-esteem,
she no longer remembers how to dream,
her best times are when she's alone,
one day her poems will be known,
not the ones she writes for show,
but the ones that only she can know,
the ones written in the dark,
the ones scratched into pieces of bark,
she's on her own,
all alone,
she sold her watch to buy a pen,
she sold her sleeves when she was ten,
she saved up and bought a note book,
which thankfully no one took,
once walking sadly down the street,
a man attacked her and stole her shoes off her feet,
so then she found the nearest stoor and ran inside,
rushing to the bathroom, that's where some of her first tears were cried,
she remembers when she went to school,
she remembers when her teachers called her a fool,
she's been hurt, she's been abused,
she's been abandoned, she's been used,
she wanders around her town at night,
trying to avoid any sign of light,
and finally she retires to her favorite tree,
somewhere she feels it's okay to be,
that's the place she thinks thoughts so deep,
that's the place where she goes to sleep,
all she wants is a friend,
someone there to many help her fend,
the poor girl, she must be so sad,
after everything she's been through, she's not even mad,
when the tears fall, Don't you want to comfort her?
when the wind blows, Don't you want to be the reason she forgets as things were,
you should help and you must,
because she feels as if the world has moved on and left her in the dust,
show her you're always there,
show her you understand that the world is unfair,
show her that you really do care,
she wants to believe this but is struggling so,
which means that you'll just have to let her know,
you're there to stay, until the end,
you're just what she wanted, her very own friend.
