What Does It Take To Write A Good Poem?

by Michelle   Jan 7, 2004

What does it take to write a good poem?
Just sit back, clear your head, and then let your thoughts roam.
Put your pen on the paper, or your hands on the keys,
And then let it flow out, just as easy as you please.
Good poems are heartfelt, from your very soul,
And many good ones come when your life feels so out of control.
Heartbroken, ecstatic, depressed or deceived
It all will come out better than you ever believed
Just put all of you in it, what you feel inside,
When it comes from the heart, that you cannot hide.
It really doesn't matter if others thing it's very good,
All that will matter is that you think it is, or you should...
Because it's something YOU created it's important to you,
Don't let others comments dictate what you do.
Be true to yourself and write what you feel
That will guarantee that you're poem stays "real".
I hope all of those who have asked What can I do a better poet to be?
Will take these words to heart and just let your soul free!

This is to anyone who ever wanted to write and didn't think they were good enough. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks but you..every poem is a good poem if it's what you feel inside...write on! :)Luv Michelle
