Nothing But A Faint Whisper

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Jan 20, 2006

As I try to tell you what I've been keeping inside,
My voice translates to nothing but a soft whisper.
My efforts to finally express the truth vanish
As I look into your eyes and foreshadow your reaction.

As much as I may want to, I'm unable to reveal
That you've become what you despise.
Your voice becomes only but a faint noise
As I only pretend to listen to you now.

You complain about those who ramble on and on,
And don't listen to others who wish to be heard.
Yet, as you say that, you don't realize
That you've become that person.

As I look at you, I'm unable to express the truth.
I can already see the hurt and humiliation in your face.
I simply do not have the strength
To show you who you've become.

In my attempt to express the truth,
My voice translates to nothing but a faint whisper,
I have lost my voice...
