The black rose garden

by cowgirlstar26   Jan 21, 2006

A Marguerite of a girl
unseen by all
Walks into the garden
The darkest of them all

She Perseus a happiness
she has never known
over the years
her hardships take a toll

her adversaries are many
into the garden she is summoned
to linger with the darkness
of this black rose garden

her spirit is faded
as she walks into the gates
across the stepping stones
to think upon her decaying Fate

her eyes are fused
on a small back rose
accumulating thoughts
about the only life she knows

she lays on the earth
and picks the tiny flower
devouring thoughts
this may be her final hour

she clenches its thorns
as they pierce her flesh
provoked by the pain
over words he never said

she lays in the garden
as the clouds brood
everything's opaque
as the wind gently soothes

so among black roses
as rain falls to the ground
she lays in silence
listening to the empty sound.....

I really admire the idea behind this piece. Also the imagery you provoke is beautiful.
But it is a bit repititious in places. Other than that, it's truly a great piece! Take care~Holly
