Deep sea

by alive in death   Feb 1, 2006

Deep sea

off an isolated island,

where i lived for years,

met the sand and the water,

to the deep sea.

my fear of the vast sea

kept me from venturing

till the day i was forced to accept reality

so i built a raft and sailed on the perfect day.

waves so clear and transparent,

sweep over my homemade board.

the light of the sun made ocean air swells...

that filled my sails with gentle tugs.

i cursed myself

stating "what was there to fear?"

then i saw to my terror...

that i was surrounded by water

deep sea

i cannot fathom.

your depths boggle me.

deep sea

mysterious and drawing

you pulled me out to you

only to leave me with nothing.
