I had...

by mj   Jan 12, 2004

I had everything anyone could ever want,
and never even realized it.
I had the perfect boyfriend, popularity, family,
and actually thought that's what I was measured on as a person.
It didn't take long but I began to lose all those things I didn't cherish,
and one day I woke up in a different world.
I had no more boyfriend, no more popularity, and a family that was ripped apart,
and didn't understand where it had went.
As horrible and as long as it took me to realize it I realized it was a good thing,
and I looked at life differently.
I did things to be proud of,
and then I really knew what people were measured on.
They are the good things as little as they may seem,
and make all the unimportant things disappear.
