As Cold

by Once an Angel   Feb 3, 2006

I wish I could remember the type of poem this was, it had a special title, but I don't remember. The point is that you repeat "as cold as," before each stanza as you read it. Hope you enjoy it!

As cold as . . .
Stone, standing erect among the tombs.
Ice, freesing down to the bone,
Fear, beating in my veins.
Sweat, mingling with my tears.
Wind, biting soft flesh.
Despair, diving deeper alway from hope.
Dark, devoid of all color's light.
Steel, grinning through an empty mill.
Iron, bending others to its will.
Death, echoing to silent shadows.
As cold as you . . .
blind to ever loving me.
