My Love Story

by Timothy S   Feb 4, 2006

The weight of my world, was just too much to bear
Or you were too anxious to wait, too loving to care
Either way our path together ended, as I sat and stared
Months on end, thinking of how we got there
But slowly climbed out of the hole we shared
The one that grew from my unfolding nightmare
My heart now old, from the experinces I've had there
Of the warmth of your soul and your beautiful stare
As you gazed into your future, just you in a mirror
Alone without me, you knew it would happen, so you fear
That you'd leave me broken, but the end was here
Needed to get away, before you also started to tear
So you let me down slow and gentle, in your loving care
I knew it was for the better, for both you and I
Months on end, I'd wonder why and until now
I realized it was best for us to kill the vows
The one's we silently made, when we stood so proud
At least one of us was saved, that's what real love's about
