When Sorry's Needed Most

I made a mistake
by loving you,
but you didn't love me,
what could i do?

I couldn't make you love me,
or feel for me at all,
It was like you didn't notice me,
I felt so very small.

One day you said you loved me,
and tears ran down my face,
I felt so happy, cried tears of joy,
remembered time and place.

Within the next week,
you forgot all about me,
you lied about your feelings,
it was so plain to see.

You still said hi
to me each day.
But sorry was one thing,
you'd never say.
