Silent Screams

by EmptyEyes   Feb 11, 2006

At night I try to sleep,
But why do I hear your terrible screams?
Screams of pain and torture,
I cover my ears with my hands,
But I can still hear them so clear.

You twist and turn during the night,
Screaming through your scratched throat,
Shouting the name of the one you love,
The blood you cough and its metallic smell,
Brings back the memories that haunt me.

Your screeches rip through my body.
It leaves me weakend and trembling.
No energy to move,
The words you say are so paralyzing.

I can see my candle flame,
Wanting to run away,
But the string,
That holds it back from finally dieing,
Won't let it go...
My fear is the fuel for your screaming.

Where do you bring so much darkness from? I really like your poems. I guess the reasons I like them is because they are so dark. Great job always. 5/5
