Cupid Road

by The Fly   Feb 12, 2006

I remember the good old days,
Just the two of us walking together.
That winding road that led to the sun.

As we watched her go down,
And sink down into the horizon.
We knew our love would shine us on.

Day turned into night, but not a whole lot darker.
Our hearts together burned so bright.
And led us down the path we chose,
Right down Cupid Road.

I remember the beauty,
I remember the way your eyes just shined away.
Like two pearls at the bottom of the sea.

And you looked at me,
With such a smile on your face that could melt a life away.
And i knew that you were mine.

Brilliantly the stars shined down,
Upon the love that we were sharing together.
I kissed you and handed a rose,
That time on Cupid Road.

Why did it break apart?
Why did it recede into the night?
I thought we had something going there,
Then suddenly there was no more light.

Only historic remains,
Of something that held us so strongly together,
Why its gone, nobody knows.
What happened to Cupid Road?
