Broken Glass

by Katrina Boblina   Feb 16, 2006

Broken glass
lies at my feet
i walk across the room
to where we will meet.

my footprints leave
a bloodied trail
and I can feel the glass
on me like a nail.

I can feel your breath
when I reach out my hand
Trying to touch you
and get to where you stand.

you stare blankly
into my crying eyes.
i can barely see you
through all of my cries.

Shattered glass
like my shattered heart
when I realize you are
trying to tear me apart.

my legs are growing week
and you seem farther away
i fall to the ground
and on there I will stay.
