Shadow

by LoSt   Feb 16, 2006

They call her name
An invisible shadow
Taking up space
A chorus of "Who?" follows the words

People she's known
A neighbor for years
None of them can see her
She thinks maybe she's not there

Runs around drinking and stealing
She's smoking and screwing
The invisible shadow is cutting
She's crying for someone to care

Funny thoughts drift in her mind
Death is on her lips
Stroking the blade with her fingertips
The invisible shadow takes one last hit

Drawing a fine line
Harshly on her wrist
Watches the red that doesn't look real
The invisible shadow is bleeding

She stares into a crimson pool
Too weak to lift her head
She's shivering and shaking
The invisible shadow is soon to be dead
