Cute Is What We Aim For

I always sneer at my face in the mirror. Is it guilt. Is it shame. Is it sin with no name. They make me nervous. Keep with me. Keep with me. Off the record. I thought you should know. No one’s interested. No one left to hear. The ones just getting started. Wait in line. So dull. Until it is a threat. To social normalcy. We want you to know. There’s a better way. We thought you should know. There’s a better way. So dull. Wait in line. The rest is up to you. Success is up to you. I thought you should know. No one’s interested. The rest is up to you. I’m okay, you’re okay. In a pattern of incompetence. Limits reveal genius. Be good or just be good at it. Most things don’t follow through. The dreams I had never came true. God willing. But who can stop me from dreaming. Ceaseless unseemly thoughts of you. All my life I have to live to prove myself to everybody else. All I want to be is to have status enough to never have to prove a thing to anyone but me. Living for a higher standard anyone can achieve. But until then I’m working to make myself obsolete. This town is one long boulevard of misspent hopes & broken dreams. But we keep moving on, because that’s just what life means. Feed the models. The rest is up to you.
