Leaving Behind

by Ben   Feb 21, 2006

Leaving behind the cries of menacing laughter
and screams of hollow beauty.
Leaving behind societyâ??s rigid restrictions
and tears of language destruction, sooty.

Leaving behind the horrors of war
and lies and bruises of corruption.
Leaving behind lovers sweet quarrels
and hurt of never knowing, innocence.

Leaving behind the famine of knowledge
and the lack of tolerance and graceful peace.
Leaving behind the syrupy smile
and which holds a thousand secrets, fleece.

Leaving behind the scum of civilization
and the people who preach what they pray.
Leaving behind the life long cons
and those whose greed forces them, pay.

Leaving behind the dim cries of truth
and muffled mumbles of true victory.
Leaving behind the shrill shouts of religion
and the mind washing numbing, trickery.

Leaving behind the sea of sickly money want
and the mountains of saturated stress.
Leaving behind the far fetching fields of grass
and the blades which sway with singing anger, less.

Leaving behind the only life I have ever known
and the numerous people which supposedly care.
Leaving behind shades of sadness
and bursts of unwilling happiness, share.

Leaving behind everything I have come to hate
and the fact that they all bitter sting deep.
Leaving behind the pain, torture and agony
and taking peace in one ending goal, death keep.
