Ode To My Spoon

by Dani Ward   Feb 22, 2006

O spoon, you are so wonderful
yet you are so overlooked
no one seems to think about it
but you're an addiction to which we're hooked
your curves are o so lovely
so is your shiny silver sheen
you've snuck into our hearts
with your quiet metallic gleam
what would we do without you
we'd have to slurp our soup
and chili would scald our fingers
if we tried to eat that goop
but with your little bowl
you hold onto our food
you scoop ice cream for our mouths
for using our fingers would be rude
spoon, this is my tribute
to the hard work you do
never have you failed me
that is why I love you
