Walking Away

by Katie   Feb 23, 2006

Finally in time
my anger had cooled,
And you were that close
to having me fooled.
I could cling to ur promise
of 'changes to come,'
But i wont hang around
for another let down.
So before, once again,
you leave me behind,
It's me leaving you,
no regrets in my mind.
Like i should have before,
im walking away,
To never turn back
on some other day.
So take a good look,
but all you will see
Is the shadow of a girl
who is finally free.

Normally I don't read poems when they're grouped together into one paragraph but this one had me reading until I was done. I loved your last line and to me I related to it in some way or at least I'd want to be like that. Somebody who's finally free.
