Two Weeks

by DancingForGod   Feb 24, 2006

Two weeks
A pittance in the global scheme of things
But all that was needed for me to remember:
Two weeks
That's all it took
For me to open my heart
And have it broken again
To remind me that beauty can be followed by harsh and cruel pain
To show me that proclamations of love aren't always true
To make my heart breakable after I'd vowed never again to have it broken
To show me that what was once sweet can become ever so sour
To remind me that happiness is often fleeting
To make me doubt my friends
Now so happy with what I have lost
Even though the world saw my smiling face
Two weeks was all it took to make that face a mask
But now, two weeks later
that face is true
No longer a mask
It's me
And while I heal, I know it'll be better soon
Already happier than I've been in days
Regardless of what two weeks can do to me
I will endure and thrive
Because I can

*I know this poem isn't that great, but it really needed writing. thanks*
