Teenage Years

by Monique   Feb 26, 2006

Feeling completely alone,
Seems like everyone has abandoned you,
In silence, you sit like a stone.

Excruciating pain runs through, right to the bone.
When a boy gives you his heart..
Then leaves you all alone.

He makes you feel like you're the only one,
Warming your heart with hugs and kisses,
But the rain comes after the sun.

Laugh the days away,
With the ones you love
Cherish these memories, never let them stray.

You're friends keep you sane,
Bring you up when you're feeling down,
But they can also bring the pain.

Go through friend after friend,
They lie, deceive you, stab you in the back,
But one will always have a hand to lend.

Weekends, you party till' dawn,
Parties equal great memories, and alot of drama,
Drink and laugh insanely, before you know it..the years are gone.

The best time of your life, sorrow, joy, tears,
Alcohol, lies and drama
Cheers to the teenage years.

"Cheers to the teenage years." I love that. Well, dahling, I do believe you have captured the agony and irony of the teenage years. Well done, well done. A fave of mine so far.

    Cheers, Krystle
