Me Inside

by Cantchangeme   Jan 19, 2004

I’m locked in a room
My blood runs cold
No difference to life
This story’s too old
Why are we here?
Why do we live?
Why do we have to?
Put up with this sh*t

Crimson leaves fall on a young child’s grave
Memories to cherish but never to save
Everyone hurts, Everyone Hurts, Everyone Hurts me
Rip my f*king heart out and watch it bleed mud
A post-hypnotic valentine written in blood
Why wont these voices just leave me alone
Welcome the newly aborted conforming clone
Reach out your hand grasp it in mine
The person you hurts now your only lifeline
So the dilemma should I let you die today
To pull you up from the drop you know I tried
But my hand was never there, now I’m dead inside

There was nothing to fall from
I have never been pure
And neither are you
And there is no cure
We are one and the same
Searching for questions
With no answers
Why are we here?…

That’s Why

Haha wow that was great. Hey I'm the first person to comment on this one! Hurray, seeing as you're newer poems are getting so much love, I figured I'd start with the lonely ones. I like how your poem shifts rhythm, but maintains a certain rhythm in each section, that is really advanced writing.
    "Why do we have to?
    Put up with this sh*t"
I would move that "?" to the second line.
"The person you hurts now your only lifeline
So the dilemma should I let you die today"
I would change "hurts" to "hurt's" with an apostrophe, and add a colon after dilemma, since...iono, it seems like a colon would be cool there. Anyhow, great poem. I'll read more later, its really early in the morning, and I'm sorta hungry/tired.
