Rainbow (Racism)

by PassingAngel   Mar 3, 2006

Have you ever had someone tell you
When you were but a child
Of a most colorful rainbow
Colors tamed and colors wild

This rainbow was made
Of light colors and darks
The rainbow is like the world
With all its racist remarks

This world is like a rainbow
Filled with many colors
But some are very choosy
They dislike the other cultures

A race is just a race
Inside we're all the same
But some of us are haters
Racists are what we became

I don't see a point
In judging people by their looks
It's just like they say,
"Don't judge the cover of books"

Looks don't really matter
It's the person inside that counts
But some are rather ignorant
And a stupid phrase they must announce

"Look over there!
He's as dark as coal.
Don't let him in,
He has a rotten soul."

Racism annoys me
Because it is just plain crude
The comments I've heard from people
Are the definitions of rude

Some are loud and obscene
About whatever they think
They speak out right away
Like it's some sort of instinct

Racism is wrong
Though only few of us can see
It has existed with us too long
And it's still with us, sadly.

We can't change the past
But we can control the future
There are problems we can't bypass
So it's time we act faster

We are all the same people
In every single way
Besides it is a human,
That all of us portray.

I really enjoy what you wrote...I agree complety with what you said...unfortunately it's all true but we can change if we want...we need to start changing minds because the race is only one...human
