Your eyes (rictameter)

by Melissa   Mar 10, 2006

Your eyes
squint lustful glares
as hidden agendas
discuss the scent of fruit filled air.
Words elude your lips vocabulary,
but impress my heart's eagerness
with a kiss of substance
that contemplates
your eyes.

A Rictameter is a 9 line poetry form. The first and last line are the same and the syllable count is as follows:
Line 1- 2 syllables- same as line 9
Line 2- 4 syllables
Line 3- 6 syllables
Line 4- 8 syllables
Line 5- 10 syllables
Line 6- 8 syllables
Line 7- 6 syllables
Line 8- 4 syllables
Line 9- 2 syllables- mirror line 1

Your rictameters are absolutely brilliant!! Okay, all your poems are really. I have to admit that I was questioning how you would get back around to 'your eyes', but you did it so perfectly. This is some absolutely, completely out of this world amazing writing!!!

    love and best wishes,

Beautiful. Eyes can say so much, and your poem conveys that.
