Cradle every silver tear

by Lady Vengeance   Mar 13, 2006

Cradle every silver tear
In velvet midnights arms
And give a frosty winter's kiss
To those who've caused you harm

Hide your face behind your hands
As clouds cover the sky
Then be the friend they never were
For each and every lie

Golden leaves slip off the trees
As you fall to the floor
Forgive the ones who beat you down
You won't hurt anymore

Children's fears are elders' friends
Now time's erased the pain
Hated once, they now have changed
And finally, it rains.

    Should "midnights" be "midnight's"?

I really like the last stanza a lot. Especially the last line.

This is a very good poem. When I read the title, I didn't think I was going to understand it. But I really did. It is excellent. 5/5
