When Darkness Falls

by Cuddles   Mar 13, 2006

So long as the sun shines
I'll smile and pretend everything is fine.
I'll laugh up into your face
and in your company I'll feel safe.
So long as daylight stands
my heart will sing and my soul will dance.
In your arms I'll have no fear.
I will not shed one single tear.

But in a few hours darkness will fall.
The trees will bend and the wind will howl.
I'll curl up in a corner, lonely and scared,
crying and wishing that you were there.
My mind will swirl with horrifying things
while I wait for daylight to come again.
But for then I'll be on my own.
When darkness falls I'll be all alone.

Dang!!! Girl, Its like heaven and hell,
good and bad, hot and cold, love and
hate, living day and night in lifes ups
    and downs.

The flow and rhyme through the write
were outstanding Cuddles. This is the
first poem I have read of yours and I
am not stopping here. Excellent read
    indeed,
