Boxing Day Tsunami

by The Wingless   Mar 14, 2006

Little children playing
Suddenly there's screams
MOMMY!!!
LOOK ITS A TSUNAMI

They all ran to the beach
Fish were on the shore
This would be their break
But it was a big mistake.

It was never expected
And the waves hit hard
Engulfing the village in water
Another mother lost her daughter

The time it took to realize
That the ocean took it's prize
No matter how many tries
They couldn't stop the children's cries

Now for those who lived
They are dirty and hungry
Bones shattered and broken
They're good deeds unspoken

They're heroes everyday
They'd do it for you
Please don't be rude
Give them some food.

Challenge to write a poem about a tragedy..Man..that was hard.

Also..I laughed at the Mommy, tsunami part..heh.
