The Girl Who Wanted Out

by xMODEL   Mar 15, 2006

Every night i have the same dream
a little girl about my age, fourteen
she's sitting in a white room, that's round
sitting on a wooden stool
she's paler then the snow that falls outside as i sleep
i look into her big dark brown eyes, and all i feel is hate
a girl, inside her eyes surrounded by flames.. wanting out
she just sits there, and stares at me
her hair is long, silky, and black
and is covering her face
her entire body is etched in red
finally she moves
she pulls a scalpel out of her pocket
and starts carving my name into her arm
all this time i thought she couldn't see me
but she knows my name, she knows I'm here
the room has no windows, or doors
I'm starting to feel claustrophobic
she looks up at me and screams
she gets up, and throws the wooden stool at me
she continues to scream, scream my name
her blood covers the walls
she runs up to me and falls
she falls onto her back, crying in pain
"i hate you" is all she seems to be whispering
i try to refrain from crying with her
i try to revive her but she's too far gone
who was that girl, how did she know my name
i wake up in a cold sweat
all i can picture is that girl inside her eyes.. the girl surrounded by flames
the girl who wanted out
...that girl was me

__This poem is about this one dream I have, that is a reoccurring dream. I now sleep with dream catchers because the dream scares me so much.

Wow, what an amazing poem. I felt like I was in the room with the girl. I almost screamed in fear! I'm adding you to my favorites list, because this is one of the best poems I have ever read!
