Commandments of a Perfect Man (Excess Illusions)

by LadyPearl   Mar 21, 2006

Begin the Journey...

After all these years
Shouldn't it be clear
At what it is I want
And what it is I need

Desiring a man of bravery
A heart sweet and warming
To wrap around my body
To brace me in true love

Someone wise and smart
A knowledge of the arts
Protect me from all harm
Teach me in the light

Eyes of azure blue
Sparkling like stars do
With a smile upon his face
Tender, fun, and loving

Visit from the Past...

Staring out my window
Face from past below
Handsome, yes indeed
Sturdy in structure

It was an old friend
Who I once dread
Was scrawny before
And ugly in sight

Smiling, not evil, yet not kind
Harsh words formed in my mind
"Judge me not by sight but heart"
"A perfect man exists in dreams"

*love is hidden beneath the skin
It tests our ability within
Physical features aren't enough
To see who a person really is
Looks is but, one thing
