Drink Sprite

One cold night
Out in the snow
There was no sound
As the wind started to blow

No bird was chirping
No frog was near
All that could be seen
Was the drop of her tear

As she walked through the woods
His letter in her hand
All she could think
Was, "how could this end?"

His picture in her pocket
His class ring on her mind
How could he do this;
Just leave her behind?

The crunch of her sneakers
Against newly fallen snow
Her tears of devastation;
She wouldn't let go

A month from today
On a night just like this
There was a party going on
That he couldn't resist

She begged him to stay
She forbid him to go
What could happen on such a night
Neither did know

He told her he wouldn't drink
He said he'd be fine
He wouldn't act stupid
He'd get home on time

He said his goodbyes
She gave him a hug
She told him to drink Sprite
And please dont do drugs

Just as he left
She found a note on the floor
It said, "I'll love you forever
and eternity and more"

You are everything to me
My life as a whole
Nothing can change that
You're my heart and my soul

You're my reason to live
With you, im happy
I truly do love yew,
Signed, Sincerely me"

As he drove down the street
The snow started to fall
His cell started ringing
He answered his call

He soon got distracted
As he talked on the phone
The roads soon turned icy
But he wouldn't go home

The radio on full blast
The phone in his ear
The wipers fully wiping
The party was near

Not paying attention
There was no way he could hear
The semi was gaining
But he couldn't see clear

It seemed like slow motion
As the semi hit his car
This accident was fatal
As a lot of accidents are

On the other side of town
She waited by the phone
She stayed up all night
Willing him to come home

No call came that night
And neither did he
She could only sit and wait
And wonder where he could be

The next day it came
The call she did dread
She new it was true;
Her boyfriend was dead

For days and days
She sat like a rock
How could this happen??
She was in utter shock

Tha police report was given
And on it, it read
"It seems he'd been drinking
Not Sprite, but beer instead"

*Please don't be stupid
And don't drink and drive
Otherwise your life
Might end up like this guy's*
