Beneath The Bridge

by Simon Hayes   Mar 22, 2006

You'll find me,
Beneath the bridge.
Washing my troubles away
With the current of the river.

Looking outwards
Along the pathway,
Of the murky shallow water
As birds sing their beautiful aubade.

Peacefully hunting
For moments.
Dusting the cobwebs from
The shards of my tainted memory.

Erasing the evils,
Scouring,
For the tattered remains
Of our once wholesome love.

You'll find me,
Beneath the bridge.
My heart once again,
Yours for the taking.

Not fair! Mixing nature with shattered love is so...so...brilliant, actually. Full of lost love and hope for what could be again. Simply breathtaking.
