My Friend Summer

My Friend Summer

Where are you my summer days?
Still hiding in my memory bank?
Can I withdraw you for a moment?
I love looking back on old times.

The sun cast shadows as we walk,
we were lucky to catch a breeze.
Soccer fields with freshly cut grass,
and pools of clean and clear water.

Trees would blow calmly in the wind,
as we tried to climb to the top.
Our best hideouts were in the trees,
and we were always one with nature.

We felt so safe and secure here,
talking about everything we could.
You were always my best friend,
the things we did will be forever.

I hope I see you again summer,
looking forward to good old times.
I miss our secrets and sounds,
the ones no one else can hear.

I know you are on your way here,
but this is not your time to shine.
A few more months until you arrive,
I missed you, oh my summer days.
