I got the news today
of my best friend who ran away
from this hurt i will learn
that she was afraid and to heaven she would turn
an apparent overdose
and in an instant shes away
no more blonde hair or beautiful big eyes
ill just sit back for the day
i get to hold her hand again
and skip on down the street
or eat Popsicles while laughing
and kicking the shoes off our feet
i really miss our talks
and our smiles at the park
and how you would tell me everything
even your fears of the dark
i remember one day when we surfed those sets
and i was afraid of the fall
you told me i could do it
and because of you i gave it my all
meet me at the crossroads
and show me the way
we will dance with our wings around our backs

a couple months later
a legend a brother of mine
was taken from the cruel hard world
and to Taylor he would dine.
Cody was a part of me
as well as Taylor dear
and my two best friends were taken
and that is what i feared
tears cry from my eyes
and there is nothing i can do
but wait patiently while down here
and then one day..
ill fly up to the gods
and dance on to the clouds
and we will be together again
and watch everyone from the clouds
