Duality

by S R P   Mar 26, 2006

Look what you've created,
a monster, no more than a shell
living out life's black and white duality
on an earth based hell

She's just a girl
oh so young
lost in memories
singing a sad song
of how her life used to be happy
wondering what she did wrong
how things could change so quickly
no one could have known.

She looks at her scars
as a reminder of her stupidity
she's locked inside these bars
behind her face of lividity
still no one knows.

She listens to the music
of depression and hate
keeping up the hope
and leaving it to fate.

Duality, black and white
she cannot see it
she cannot fight
black is all she sees
she cannot move toward the light.

Guilt consumers her
each and every day
of all the things she'd prefer
she continues to wither in her dismay.

She tries and tries
to understand it all
instead she cries
unable to break her fall.

Her doubt leads her astray
her mind wonders
and her thoughts go away
still she ponders
not wanting to see another day.
