My Heart

by Jacob Davis   Jan 26, 2004

You hold my hand,
and my life is pure bliss.
you break the hold and grip my heart,
what did i ever do to deserve this?
squeezing with all your might,
i should not stand for this,
but my heart belongs to you,and without a heart
there is no longer any fight.
pressing, squeezing, digging your nails into the heart,
now that you own it,i am nothing but pieces apart.
release your grip so i can pick up the pieces and start brand new,
it's like a puzzle,
i may retrieve the pieces,
but one piece will always long for you.
