Runaway Angel

What was to become of me?....

My Angel flew away today,
Said I could never be helped,
When my heart was full of dismay,
She left me all alone,
And I cried...

It's a painful thing to deal with,
All alone with my head in my hands,
I don't even have myself as a friend,
And someone who was never supposed to give up,
Gave up on me today...

I should have stowed my heart away,
Never gave it to someone else,
For dear I hope the Angel wasn't looking for that,
Because if she was,
I'm still trying to get it back...

Shouldn't be too long now,
For my heart to return to me,
If the man didn't break it I'd be surprised,
Because it is just a game to him,
He has no heart, you see...

He's a collector of beautiful things,
But when he finds something he hasn't got,
Something he can't have,
He will push and pull to get his way,
Or steal it right from under your nose...

A stolen heart is no good,
Used and abused, tormented,
I wish I had the strength to steal it back,
But without anyone, I am powerless...

My Angel flew away today,
No big surprise there,
Even I gave up on me a long time ago,
But it is still so very sad,
If you see her, please.....give her back to me.
