Our Chance

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Mar 28, 2006

As I enter the stadium, I hear the crowd.
Their applaud elevates my adrenaline level.
My eagerness to play grows as minutes pass.

Our coaches finals words echo in our ears,
As it is their final attempt to motivate us.
Yet, their words need not encourage us,
For our anticipation shows in our faces.

This is our chance to show what we're made of.
This is our chance to shine, to stand out.
This is our chance to give the crowd
The show they all came to see.

On the court, my heart pounds as excitement grows.
We all joke in an attempt to calm ourselves down.
Yet, our anticipation cannot be tempered.

As the referee's whistle blows,
Our feet hammer the court, adrenaline rush.
Putting our heart into the game;
We give it all we've got,
For this is our chance to show what we're made of.

*it was the beginning of a basketball tournament this weekend lol :D
