Lies

by Amber   Mar 29, 2006

If I were to tell you everything
You'd be surprised
That everything I had told you
Had all been lies.

From my smile to laugh,
My laugh to my cries,
You'll never truly know what hides behind these eyes.

All the things that I have told you
were not truly true,
And it was funny
how you thought you knew.

Although you were always able to tell
If I was lying,
You'll never truly know why I was crying.

See, now I have grown older
I've also grown wiser.

My walls have gotten higher
And you've grown tired.

But before you go,
I want you to know.

Everything you had seen,
had all been a mask

Just to hide the happiness,
That my life lacks.
