Staring at the sky

by Jon Hunt   Mar 29, 2006

The fallen tree; once mighty has fallen,
Blighted and broken it fell,
And here it lies, with I atop it.
Staring through the canopy,
Staring at the sky.

Here the world rests,
The birds sing joyfully,
And spring blossoms.
Above the clouds glide by,
And I stay still,
Just staring at the sky.

A rustling below,
As many a creature searches,
The food for life of which they live.
And wings above, a bird its foe,
Soars aloft;
As I'm staring at the sky.

But the world is out there,
Beyond the woodland fringe,
Where ambience destroyed,
This peace in pieces.
And I'm reminded of,
This time, like the stream, that trickles slowly by,
Whilst I'm staring at the sky.

** i fancied a different style.. with little rhyming**

The last stanza was deifnately the best - excellently written - it was a brilliant and very original piece of poetry.

Wowo i really felt like i was there! great descriptions adn the changed of style has obv worked well for you. just one sugestion, the first line
    - The fallen tree; once mighty has fallen
i think you should change the first 'fallen' to some other adjective because, erm, well i just think it would make it better! xx
