So Hard for Words

by Jon Hunt   Sep 21, 2006

It's so hard for words,
When no one is there,
Words have no meaning,
When spoken to air.

And so hard to explain,
To the walls that I'm near,
To the floor where I fall,
To the pain that I fear.

From the hills that I climb,
To the skies that I scream.
Through the tears I can't cry,
Through the ground, to the stream.

To the rain on my head,
As the sky starts to fall,
On the thoughts that I dread,
At the end of it all.

To the words that were said,
When I meant them so bad,
The ones never read,
When she turned on them, mad.

Up the trees that I climb,
To escape from it all.
To the branches I sit on,
Up high, and so tall.

Look now to the sun's rise;
It's ascent to the sky.
Where Earth sheds its disguise,
And birds take to fly.

This early morning Beauty,
Covered in frost.
No more than your' beauty;
But in that, I am lost.
