Still

by LostForever   Apr 2, 2006

There it goes again
That echoing whisper
A flash of an image
His elbow just missed her

Silence on the outside
Yet screaming in her head
She remembers every fist full
Every word he ever said

She still feels the blood trickle down her face
But her hands find nothing there
She still begs him to stop and leave her alone
But she's only talking to air

She still wakes up in the middle of the night
Staring in fear at the handle on the door
She still trembles and shakes in cold sweats
She forgets, he isn't here anymore

So still she stumbles with outstretched hands
Still cowers as her pulse begins to race
Muffeled cries still fall upon her pillow
He's gone, but she can still see his face

See you can take someone away
But the past is still a memory
A memory's a problem
The problem is her enemy
