A Celestial Misfortune

by butterfly ♥ kisses   Apr 4, 2006

I'm thumbing through the memories
Tucked away beneath my bed.

The boxes overflow with all the feelings
And the words we never said.

That year is just a moment;
A still frame in this cinematic life.

Looking back, it has become so clouded
With should-haves and unnecessary strife.

I want to believe that we were too young
To feel the way we did.

But you cannot tell the heart
Not to love, to teach, or to miss.

I hoped that we would be different
And not fail like all the rest.

But your love could not prevail
When I was the only one left.

You used to tell me every night
That our love was written in the stars,

But from what I can see,
We were ill-fated from the start.
