Forgotten Love

I wish I could perform a resurrection;
One to revive our love and protection.
You'll never know how much I cared,
You'll never know the love we shared.
All that's left is this pain,
Nothing else except disdain.
The love is gone and you are, too,
My one wish is that you knew,
The times we shared I'm sure you see,
Are nothing more than history.
We flew away on different paths,
Like two doves and I must ask,
Was what we shared not meant to be?
I guess time won't let us see.
Like those doves soaring above,
