Neighbourhood Watch (1994)

by Ed or Ian Henderson   Apr 5, 2006

(Lyrics)

She\'s the only eyes in the neighbourhood,
She\'s making sure no one spills her blood.
Because she\'s all alone in her council home.
With no family, and no telephone.

The neighbourhood watch as she watches them.
Nobody cares about her.
Neighbourhood watch: she watches them.
Nobody cares at all.

She knows the kids are all on drugs.
If they want money, it's her they\'ll mug.
They know she is old and weak.
They\'ll take her down, they're at their peak.
She watches me as I cross the street.
Thinks "It's me.", get's to her feet.
Bolts her door and hides away.
But I pass by and she stays hidden away.

The neighbourhood watch as she watches them.
Nobody cares about her.
Neighbourhood watch: she watches them.
Because nobody cares at all.

All she has left is her memory.
Always loking back. How it used to be.
The future\'s grim that is assured.
No cash to save, and nothing to hoard.
They don\'t know: she's had her life.
She was a mother. She was a wife.
Nothing to take, except her pride.
And there\'ll be more when she has died.

She\'s the only eyes.
The only eyes.
Only eyes.

Howdy Chris! Unfortunately the music no longer exists. There was a dictaphone recording made of it, but it rather annoyingly got recorded over. But I do remember the riff vividly because the guitarist had blatantly stolen the verse riff of "Children of the Revolution" by T-Rex and just thrashed it up.
