I've been Pronounced

by The Black Angel Lloyd Rose   Apr 6, 2006

As the needles push into my vein,
As hopes collapse and fall as rain,
As my soul wishes its bitter end,
As my mind can no longer defend,
As this world comes to a stop,
As my blood lets its final drop,
As my body begins to numb,
As they stand there calling me dumb,
As my heartbeat begins to fade,
As my memories revolve to the blade,
As my body slips asunder,
As I lie down stiff as lumber,
As the warmth pulses within,
As the whole room begins to spin,
As the needle falls from my hand,
As I drift off to foreign land,
As I'll not awake again in my bed,
As I've been pronounced overdosed: Dead.

You almost make me believe that you have overdosed before, and knowing you I bet you've come close. Good poem man.

    Absolutely love it.
It was a very original way to express that ending. I had a mental picture, which although disturbing, proves how well this was written.
    Well done

I like the rhyme scheme you used, it really adds to the overall effect of the poem.
