Irony

Irony

Irony lies in the fact that, after three years,

I finally get to see you again.
I finally have found the courage to tell you how I feel.
I finally have the experience to know not to hurt you.
I finally have the maturity to do something about this unending longing,
unending ache, and unending desire,
that has plagued us both for so long -

and you don't want me anymore.

Wow, excellent poem. It is so powerful, the way it's set out, it builds up with quite a strong, positive tone but it then comes crashing down- very sad. Nice poem once again, a great read.
