From My Heart

by May Lee   Apr 17, 2006

If you want me to I'll smile

as you look into my eyes

I can even stay a while

and speak words I know are lies

You may even think I'm perfect

and may even wish you're me

hidden truth behind my intellect

is what you do not see

You may seek me for the answers

for I'm one you can confide

as my pain grows like a cancer

and I crumble deep inside

I will always rush and aide

you will always have my hand

as I know I slowly fade

sinking deep in my quicksand

When I care I find some peace

Love for all is in my nature

still my soul I can't appease

and my minds in constant torture

With a heart that yearns for freedom

truth I willingly will seek

but confined inside your kingdom

My thoughts I'd dare not to speak

Face each day with all my bravery

Search for truth is in delay

Subjected to mental slavery

In hopes of a brighter day

Am I living in illusion

to believe I'll find what's fair

Must i predict the conclusion?

that the world just doesn't care
